A few weeks ago, Lisa came up with the idea to check out the Brimfield Antique Show with our good friends, the oft mentioned Chris and Delaina Halford.  We had visited the show a few years back and just about the only thing I remember about it was the sheer amount of junk that somehow managed to be gathered in one small stretch of town.  Really, it was staggering.  But, I did also remember that a good amount of this junk did provide for some cool photo ops.  So, there we were- the half American/half Canadian quartet meandering around finding as much interest in the junk as we did in the people selling the junk (ok, maybe more so with the people).

Let’s face it.  A lot of us either love to horde, hate to part with, or just don’t have any better sense than to rid ourselves of junk.  Forget about the stuff that has some sort of intrinsic sentimental value.  I can understand that.  But, what possesses someone to amass boxes full of random keys and locks, little Buddha statues, or used Pez dispensers?  I am sure that someone has an answer to that.  But hey, you know what?  I found comfort in being surrounded by all of that -stuff-.  If I ever need 200 bottle openers, I know that there is someone who has me covered.  Should I all of a sudden have an itch to listen to the Jackson 5 LP, Victory, I am golden.

But, ultimately, as far as I was concerned, the best part of being surrounded by all of this was the amount of photos there were waiting to be captured.  I got as much of a kick taking pictures of a collection of rivets as I did of the random people staring at me taking pictures of a collection of rivets.  So, if you’re in the area come Summer 2010, I do recommend grabbing your camera and an open mind and check it out.
